The new Customs Area Controller in charge of Port and Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML), Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, has met with stakeholders at PTML, as well as sister agencies, to ensure ease of doing business within the environment.

Comptroller Daniyan met with stakeholders at the command headquarters in Apapa on Thursday, 30 May 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, the CAC said it is in line with the directive of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, to constantly engage stakeholders, as enshrined in the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.

He reiterated the commitment of the service to facilitate trade without jeopardising its mandates, which include maximum revenue collection.

“I want to reiterate that the essence of my coming here is to make business suitable for all of us. I want us to experience easy trade and turnovers.

“Basically, what we’re here to discuss is the challenges, how we look at them and resolve them but not undermining the mission why I’m here, to collect maximum revenue,” he emphasised.

He urged traders to be compliant to enable them to benefit from the modern trade facilitation tools of the service while also ensuring a reduction in non-tariff barriers.

Similarly, the Customs Area Controller also paid a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police, Western Port Authority Command, Olanrewaju Ishola; MD PTML, Ascanio Russio; as well as operational offices, as part of his strategic plan to create a favourable work environment.
