Kano Pillars Stay Top after 2-1 Win over Enyimba Int`l

The match day 25 of the Nigeria professional football league produced some exciting results across 10 centers YST.

Kano Pillars come from a goal down to beat Enyimba 2-1 at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna. Victor Mbaoma puts the people’s elephant ahead as early as the 8th minute but Rabiu Ali goals turned the match around for the Sai Masu Gidas.

The oriental derby between Abia warriors and FC Ifeanyi Ubah ended in a 1-1 draw. Patrick Egeonu put the FC Ifeanyi Ubah ahead in the 10th minute but Chukwuemeka Obioma 25th minutes equalizer ensured the spoils was shared.

The start of the second stanza has indeed been a good one for MFM FC who have now gone six games unbeaten, conceding only once which was in today’s game against rangers int’l in Enugu.

Ugochukwu Ugwuoke 81st minute goal for rangers cancelled out Chimezie Izuchukwu 67th minute opener.

Plateau United and Lobi Stars recorded the away victories of the round beating Adamawa United and Dakkada FC 2-0 and 1-0 respectively while Nasarawa United charge for a continental ticket suffered a set-back as they fell 2-1 to Kastina United.

Sunshine stars extended their winless streak to 18 after losing 2-1 to Warri Wolves.

The win for Kano Pillars put the Sai Mas Gida two points clear off second place Akwa United.

Atlanta Hawks Defeat 76ers 103-100 in NBA Play-Offs 2nd Round

Trae Young scored 25 points as the Atlanta Hawks held on to win 103-100 at home to the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the NBA play-offs.

Monday’s win levelled their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semi-final series at 2-2.

The Western Conference semi-final between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz is also level at 2-2.

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both scored 31 points as the Clippers beat the top seeds 118-104.

The Clippers’ Marcus Morris scored 22 of his 24 points during a first half in which the LA side, who lost the first two games in the series, led by as many as 29 points at one stage.

David Moyes is On the Verge of Committing His Future to West Ham

Moyes, 58, has been in discussions with the Hammers since the end of the season over a new three-year deal.

There was uncertainty after it became known Everton had put their former manager high on a list of potential replacements for Carlo Ancelotti.

It had been anticipated Moyes’ West Ham future would have been made clear by now, but it is understood there are no issues over the new deal.

At West Ham, Moyes feels he is capable of putting together a squad that it can challenge towards the top end of the Premier League on a regular basis, as he did when he was in charge at Goodison Park between 2002 and 2013.

The manager is in his second spell at London Stadium, having returned in December 2019 to replace Manuel Pellegrini.

Over the past 18 months, he has taken West Ham from a relegation battle to Europa League qualification.

Nigerian Girls Lose Again to Cameroun

The Nigerian women handball team has lost its second match in the ongoing African Women Handball Championship in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The team fell to host Cameroon on Thursday evening in the second game after losing the first match to DR Congo.

The team had a brilliant encounter in the first phase of the game after losing by a goal difference; 14-13.

However, the team seemed to fall like a pack of cards as it could only score six more goals and conceded eighteen more goals to lose 31-19 at the end.

The Nigerian team is now in a tight corner as it needs to beat Kenya handsomely in the late game to expect qualification to the next round via the best loser berth.

They play Kenya on Saturday.
