Barcelona Hit By Late Penalty To Draw With CADIZ

Barcelona compounded their Champions League misery at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain by drawing on Sunday at home to Cadiz, who scored an 87th-minute penalty to snatch a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi broke a Barcelona record by making his 506th La Liga appearance for the club and marked the milestone with a goal, his own spot-kick looking likely to secure a narrow win for his side.

But Barca failed to score a second despite a hatful of chances and Cadiz punished them with a late equaliser, Alex Fernandez converting from the spot after a wild swing from Clement Lenglet.
The draw means Ronald Koeman’s side move only one point closer to Atletico Madrid in the table instead of three, after Atletico gave their rivals an opportunity by losing at home to Levante on Saturday.

Mcilroy, Thomas To Dress In Red And Black In Honour Of Woods

Mcilroy, Thomas

Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are among the golfers set to don Tiger Woods’ signature Sunday red and black during the final round of the World Golf Championships (WGC) event in Florida to honour the 15-time major winner, who suffered a car accident.
Woods, considered one of the greatest golfers of his generation, was being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles after Tuesday’s crash left him with a fractured right leg and shattered ankle.
The 45-year-old is recovering and in “good spirits”.

An 82-time PGA Tour winner, Woods famously wears a red shirt and black trousers on Sundays.
Collin Morikawa, who leads by two shots over Brooks Koepka at the Concession Golf Club, will wear the same colour combination, along with Patrick Reed, according to Golf Channel.
American Max Homa endorsed the idea but said he would be unable to participate as he did not pack the colours required.
Ten-time major champion Annika Sorenstam, who is playing her first LPGA Tour tournament in 13 years, will also wear red and black in the final round of the Gainbridge LPGA event in Orlando.

Mourinho says pressure at Spurs ‘like oxygen’

Mourinho

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho said Friday that being under pressure was “like oxygen” for him as he seeks to turn around the club’s terrible Premier League form.

Mourinho’s job has come under scrutiny after a run of five Premier League defeats in six games left them ninth in the table — nine points outside the top four.

But the Portuguese, whose team topped the table in December, said it was just part of the job.
Mourinho said earlier this week that he was confident he would be remembered for the right reasons at Spurs despite overseeing a collapse in their form during his first full season in charge.
The poor run in the league is unprecedented for the 58-year-old in a long and mostly successful managerial career at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

However, Tottenham’s season could still be saved by success in cup competitions.

Spurs will meet Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16 of the Europa League after completing an 8-1 aggregate win over Austrian side Wolfsberg this week.

Mourinho’s men also face Premier League leaders Manchester City in the League Cup final in April — looking to win their first silverware for 13 years.
