He listed the suspects as:

Azeez Yakubu, principal suspect, Ahmed Yahaya, Abdulfatai Kadri ( Vigilante Commander), Aishat Yunisa, Lukman Saka, Abdulganiyu Bamidele, Soliu Ayinde and Abdulrasaq Babamle

Moshood said items recovered from the suspects included 11 human skulls, human bones, powder suspected to be human bones, human hair and some charms.

He said that the arrest followed complaints to the police in Ilorin of missing persons, kidnappings, and killings for ritual purposes.

The spokesman said that upon the arrival of the police joint investigation team in Ilorin on Oct. 5, Yakubu, the principal suspect, was arrested after a search was conducted in his No. 20 Ile Opa residence.

He added that “during the search, 11 human skulls, some pieces of human bones, human hair and powder suspected to be grounded human bones and charms were recovered in the house.”

Moshood said that the suspects were also involved in exhuming dead bodies from graves in the community and removing their vital body parts for sale to prominent personalities.

“The suspects confessed and admitted to have sold 31 human heads to some personalities in Ilorin and other towns in the state and other states,” he said.

The force public relations officer added that all the suspects made confessional statements to the police on the various roles they played in the crime.

He said that investigation was ongoing and efforts were being made to arrest other suspects mentioned by the suspects who were still at large.

The spokesman added that the suspects would be arraigned on completion of investigation.

Speaking to newsmen, Yakubu said that Kadri had brought 20 human skulls that he exhumed from the Ilorin community central cemetery.

He said that he usually bring them in batches of four, six, and eight for safe keeping and collects them within a day or two.

Yakubu said that Kadri also informed him of personalities in Ilorin and other parts of the state that he supplies the parts to.

Osinbajo Visits Kaduna, Commiserates with Victims of Train Attack

Vice president Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday visited Kaduna to sympathize with victims of the attack on Kaduna-Abuja train that occurred on Monday.

Osinbajo when answering questions from newsmen condemned the attack and described the act as evil, adding that such behaviour was sheer manifestation of cowardice. extended his condolence to the families of passengers that lost their lives

The Vice President said such happenings reinforced the need to provide security and surveillance on rail tracks, adding that government had been doing its best.

He promised that rail service would be restored soonest, just as he assured that adequate safety measures will be put in place to avert recurrence of such incident.

Osinbajo commended Kaduna State government for footing the medical bills of those injured, promising that Federal Government would render all necessary support.

EFCC Arrests Another FBI-Wanted Nigerian

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Emmanuel Chidiebere, a suspect wanted in the United States of America by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering.

EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren disclosed this in a statement, on Tuesday in Abuja, that suspect was arrested in his hideout in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State after receiving intelligence reports gathered by a team of operatives, while other three of his accomplices are still at large.

Chidiebere is alleged to have defrauded some victims in America, Cote D’Ivoire and Poland of some undisclosed amount of money and went underground.

Kaduna State Declares 24-hour Curfew in Two LGAs Over Attacks

The Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas of the State with immediate effect.

The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made the disclosure on Monday.

According to Aruwan, the curfew was to assist the security agencies stabilize the situation, and restore law and order.

The kaduna state government while appealing to residents to cooperate with the security agencies, condemned the violence and all acts of lawlessness that occurred in the area.
