The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Edo/Delta Area Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the welfare, education, and development of children within the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) community.
The association made the commitment during the Children’s Day celebration held at the Customs Barracks on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Judith Kanu, commended the leadership and members of the national COWA, under the chairmanship of Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, for their dedication to the well-being of children and families.
While affirming the association’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and creating a supportive environment that enables children to thrive, Kanu stressed that children’s development requires the active involvement of parents, educators, caregivers, and government institutions working together to create an enabling environment for their success.
“The future of every nation depends on the quality of its children. It is our collective responsibility to ensure they have access to the right values, education, and opportunities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow,” she said.
She further highlighted the role of the Nigeria Customs Service in promoting national development, noting that investing in children remains essential to building a stronger and more prosperous society.
Addressing the children, Kanu urged them to remain committed to their studies, respect their parents and teachers, uphold good values, and avoid negative influences that could derail their future aspirations, adding that success is built on hard work, discipline, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
