Customs Bids Farewell to Six Senior Officers After 35-Year of Meritorious Careers

Six senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Zone ‘B’ have officially retired after completing 35 years of active service, drawing heartfelt tributes from colleagues and command leadership at a send-off ceremony on Thursday 24 September 2026 in Kaduna.
The retiring officers honoured at a valedictory ceremony attended by colleagues, family, and service leadership include Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Nsikan Umoh, Zonal Coordinator for Zone B, along with five Customs Comptrollers: Innocent Anavhe (Enforcement, Zone B), Ofonime Ido (Zonal Headquarters, Zone B), Isah Aliyu (Sokoto/Zamfara), Victoria Aliboh (FCT-Abuja Command), and Mohammed Umar (Niger/Kogi Command).
During the ceremony, colleagues paid tribute to the retirees’ decades of dedication, leadership, and sacrifice across various commands nationwide.
Comptroller Sa’ad Hassan the Customs Area Controller of Kaduna Command highlighted the personal and professional bond shared with the retirees, wishing them success and safety in their post-service endeavors.
On his part, the Acting Area Controller, Kano/Jigawa Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Usman Adamu, speaking on behalf of officers in the command, offered prayers for their continued good health, renewed purpose, and a fulfilling retirement.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the outgoing cohort, ACG Nsikan Umoh thanked the NCS leadership headed by Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi and credited divine guidance for their safe completion of duty saying “Serving this nation for three and a half decades has been the greatest honor of our lives. We step down today confident that the Nigeria Customs Service is in capable hands to carry the torch forward.”
Umoh noted that while stepping down from active service is an emotional transition, the officers leave behind a stronger, more resilient customs framework built over three and a half decades of public service.
