The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, has honoured two outstanding officers, Deputy Comptroller (DC) Audu Edime, who headed the scanning unit, and Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Isah Sulaimon, the outgoing Public Relations Officer for their exemplary contributions to operations along the Lagos–Abidjan corridor.

The send-forth ceremony, held on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, brought together sister security agencies, business stakeholders, and members of the border community to celebrate the dedicated service of the two senior officers.

Speaking at the event, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, described the honourees as exceptional professionals whose conduct and work ethic set a high standard for others to follow.

“Today, we gather to honour our PRO and DC Edime,” he said. “Sulaimon’s excellent work ethic has contributed immensely to the achievements of this Command. His service as my spokesperson has made my role as Area Controller more effective and seamless.”

Adenuga noted that the outgoing PRO played strategic roles in every major milestone announced by the Command. “I am not surprised he is being elevated today. As he progresses to the next phase of his career, I will continue to maintain a cordial relationship with him,” he added.

The CAC also commended the harmonious collaboration between sister agencies and other critical stakeholders, describing them as a united force that has helped to sustain a conducive business environment at the Seme border.

In his response, CSC Sulaimon expressed gratitude to the Area Controller for his support and leadership. “I was able to give my best because my CAC provided an enabling environment,” he said. “I am grateful to the Service for the opportunity to serve and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria.”

The ceremony also featured goodwill messages from various sister agencies, stakeholders, and well-wishers, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting professionalism and diligence among officers of the Nigeria Customs Service.
