NCS Ondo/Ekiti Command Concludes First Aid Training, Boosts Officer Emergency Readiness

The Nigeria Customs Service Ondo/Ekiti Area Command has concluded a comprehensive first aid training programme designed to equip officers with essential life saving skills for managing emergencies on duty.

According to a press release issued on Monday, 24 November 2025, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs Herbert Dzungwenen, the training, held in Akure, Ondo State, on Saturday, 22 November 2025, received the approval of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.

The programme attracted enthusiastic participation from officers across the Command, reflecting the Service’s commitment to health, safety and improved operational readiness.

In her opening address, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Queen Obazee, represented by Chief Superintendent of Customs Mary Ugbebu, urged participants to put the acquired knowledge to effective use.

“This training is a vital investment in your personal safety and the well-being of the communities we serve,” Comptroller Obazee said. “I admonish every officer here to take this opportunity seriously, internalise these life saving techniques, and ensure they are ready to act swiftly and competently in any emergency situation.”

Comptroller Obazee also expressed gratitude to the NCS Management for initiating and funding the programme, noting its importance in strengthening a workforce capable of providing pre-hospital care when required.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to continuous capacity building initiatives aimed at boosting the competence and safety of its officers.
