President of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, was on Monday, 4 August 2025, honoured by the Peace Ambassadors of Nigeria during a courtesy visit to the COWA Secretariat in Gwarimpa, Abuja.

The recognition, named her Nigeria’s Most Notable Female Advocate, included a certificate of recognition, a diplomatic passport, and the symbolic decoration with the Peace Ambassador sash and pin.
The delegation, led by the President of the Peace Ambassadors of Nigeria, Onuche Kingsley, praised Mrs Adeniyi for her unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, health advocacy, and community development.
“Peace is not just the absence of war. When you have food at home, you are at peace with yourself, and harmony reigns. Through her work, Mrs Kikelomo has ensured that many homes experience peace from within,” Kingsley said.
He described her as a valued partner in the NGO’s mission to promote gender inclusiveness and support vulnerable communities, particularly in states such as Benue and Plateau, which face insecurity.

In her response, Mrs Adeniyi expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed COWA’s dedication to uplifting and empowering women. She highlighted the recent commissioning of a skills acquisition centre and the graduation of its first cohort of trainees. She also underscored the need to prioritise women’s health, especially eyesight and overall well-being, while expanding capacity-building initiatives nationwide.
The visit signalled the start of potential collaboration between COWA and the Peace Ambassadors of Nigeria, focusing on humanitarian outreach, advocacy for young girls, and joint empowerment programmes in underserved regions.
