ACG Orbih Reaffirms Commitment to Modernisation, Efficiency in Nigeria Customs Service

The Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘A’, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Charles Orbih, has reiterated the Service’s commitment to professionalism and pursuing a fully modernised and efficient Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Speaking at a decoration ceremony for newly promoted officers at the Apapa Area Command on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, ACG Orbih highlighted the Service’s transformative journey under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Bashir Adeniyi, MFR.

He stated, “This progressive vision has created an environment where excellence thrives, as evident in today’s promotion ceremony.”

He urged the newly promoted officers to recognise that merit and performance are crucial for career advancement. “Apapa Command generated N2.53 trillion last year. A higher target will be set, so I urge you all to remain vigilant and prepared for greater responsibilities.”

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Apapa Area Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, encouraged the officers to continuously seek knowledge, emphasising that the landscape of customs and trade is constantly evolving.

The decorated officers expressed their gratitude to the CGC and his management team for ensuring a swift promotion process. “This is a welcome development and a step forward in life. Nigerians should expect even more dedication from us in carrying out our duties. We met last year’s target and promise to achieve it again,” said DSC Abubakar Jafar.

The event also recognised officers for their diligence and commitment to service.
