Customs Women Shine with 3-0 Victory Over NAF Rockets in CGC’s Volleyball Tournament

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League, held from 1 to 15 December at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, showcased thrilling matches, with the Nigeria Customs Service Women’s team delivering a spectacular performance to defeat NAF Rockets 3-0 in the women’s category.
The Customs Women dominated throughout the game, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork to secure their commanding victory. Head Coach Assistant Superintendent of Customs I (ASCI) Christopher Sule lauded the team’s outstanding performance, saying, “Our women showed great discipline and strategy on the court. Their impressive win is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
In other women’s matches, LifeCamp VC edged out Benue Queens 3-2 in a tense five-set thriller, while COAS Spikers and Kada Emeralds swept Nigeria Immigration Service and Olalomi respectively, with identical 3-0 wins. CNS Spikers also continued their strong form, defeating NSCDC with another emphatic 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, the Customs Men’s team displayed resilience in their tightly contested match against Kano Pillars. Despite a 2-3 loss, the team’s determination and tactical approach earned praise from Coach Sule. “The men played with heart and commitment. While the result wasn’t in our favour, I’m confident they’ll bounce back stronger,” he said.
The Customs men’s and women’s teams continue to enjoy the full support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who has expressed his commitment to further strengthening the teams.
The CGC Volleyball Premier League has proven to be a platform for showcasing the prowess of Customs athletes, with the women’s team emerging as a formidable force in the competition.
