ACG Umoh Applauds Kwara Customs for Professionalism, Operational Discipline

Kwara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has earned commendation for its professionalism, discipline and clean operational record, with the Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) of Customs and Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘B’, Nsikan Umoh, urging officers to sustain the standard.
ACG Umoh gave the commendation on Monday, 10 August 2026, during an oversight visit to the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State, as part of her tour of operational commands within the zone.
Addressing officers and men of the Command, Umoh disclosed that her office had not received any adverse report against the Command since she assumed office, attributing the record to the professionalism and integrity of its personnel.
“Your conduct is a reflection of the Nigeria Customs Service, and I encourage you to continue to uphold the values that distinguish the Service. What you do on and off duty matters,” she stated.
Delivering the goodwill message of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, Umoh charged officers to remain responsible in their conduct and warned against involvement in illicit drugs and sharp practices. She also urged them to maintain unity and work collectively towards achieving the objectives of the Service.
Earlier, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Najeem Ogundeyi, presented the Command’s operational achievements, key milestones and administrative progress, highlighting efforts to strengthen service delivery and compliance.
The engagement further provided an opportunity for the Zonal Coordinator to interact with key trade stakeholders, including freight forwarding associations, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and representatives of major excise factories. The discussions addressed concerns around cargo clearance procedures, examination timelines and regional trade competitiveness.
During her interaction with stakeholders, she commended the stakeholders for their cooperation with the Command and assured them of continued engagement. She later inspected the Command’s administrative offices, warehouse and residential barracks, expressing satisfaction with the orderliness, cleanliness and discipline observed.
