Customs Women Clinch 2025 Super Cup Title As Men’s Team Finish Runners-Up

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Female Volleyball Team has won the 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Super Cup after defeating the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Spikers 3–0 in the final held on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of NCS Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Afolabi Ajayi, the Customs women entered the champions’ tournament in confident form following a successful outing in Ghana and maintained their dominance throughout the competition. Their straight-sets victory in the final sealed an emphatic triumph and confirmed their status as one of the leading sides in Nigerian volleyball.

In the men’s category, the NCS team also delivered a strong performance, progressing to the final before finishing as runners-up after losing to the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers. Despite the defeat, the team earned recognition as the most disciplined side of the tournament, a commendation that underscored their teamwork and conduct on and off the court.

Commending the teams, the Commander of TRADOC, Deputy Comptroller-General Suleiman Chiroma, said, “I am highly impressed with the outstanding performances of our teams. Their dedication, discipline and resilience clearly demonstrate the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to excellence beyond its core mandate.”

He also praised the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his support for sports development within the Service, stating, “The Comptroller-General’s sustained investment in sports and unwavering commitment to talent development continue to position the Service as a formidable force in Nigerian sports.”

The combined results of the tournament, according to the statement, reinforce the Nigeria Customs Service’s growing influence in national volleyball, with both teams demonstrating competitive strength and organisational discipline at one of the country’s premier volleyball events.
