The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) volleyball teams delivered impressive performances at the 2025 Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Nigeria National Volleyball Premier League Final Phase, held from 1 to 14 December 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The Customs women’s team successfully defended their league title, clinching the championship for the second consecutive year. Their dominance was sealed with a convincing 3–0 victory over Life Camp, with set scores of 25–11, 25–21, and 25–18. Earlier in the year, the team also represented Nigeria at the African Women’s Club Championship and won the Super Volleyball Championship in Accra, Ghana.

The men’s team recorded a remarkable rise, finishing second overall after placing sixth in the previous season. Their campaign featured a thrilling five-set encounter against eventual champions, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers, watched by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.

Speaking after the competition, CGC Adeniyi described the league as “top-notch” and “highly impressive,” praising its organisation and competitiveness. He revealed plans for deeper collaboration with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), including expanded competitions and beach volleyball events.

“Nigerian teams must strengthen their squads by signing foreign players to enhance competitiveness,” he said, citing Customs’ recruitment of players from Ghana and Benin Republic, with scouting efforts extending to Rwanda.

The 2025 league also featured improved prize incentives, with ₦5 million awarded to champions, ₦3 million to runners-up, and ₦2 million to third-placed teams, alongside individual awards and participation grants.

NVBF President, Engineer Musa Nimrod, described the league as a success and confirmed the return of the Super Cup in January 2026. Coaches and officials credited Customs’ success to strong institutional support and strategic planning.

As the season concluded, the Nigeria Customs volleyball teams stood out as champions and runners-up, reinforcing their reputation as a model of consistency, growth, and sporting excellence.
