Comptroller Mohammed Musa Assumes Leadership of Katsina Command

Calls on Officers to Uphold Discipline, Professionalism

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Katsina Area Command officially welcomed Comptroller Mohammed Musa as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC), promising to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and operational effectiveness among officers.

The handover ceremony took place on Monday, 8 December 2025, at the Command Headquarters and was attended by senior officers and unit heads, who gathered to witness the smooth transition in leadership.

According to a statement by Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Bello Isah, Public Relations Officer of Katsina Command, the event marked a new chapter for the Command as it seeks to consolidate achievements and enhance service delivery.

In his inaugural address, Comptroller Musa, a seasoned administrator and enforcement strategist, pledged to build on the successes of his predecessors while emphasising strict adherence to the Service’s regulations and commitment to duty.

“We will pursue the mandates of revenue generation, anti-smuggling, and trade facilitation with renewed vigor,” he said, highlighting the importance of collaboration among officers and engagement with stakeholders to strengthen border security.

The outgoing Customs Area Controller, now promoted to Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Abba-Aji Idriss, expressed gratitude to officers and men for their support during his tenure. He described his time at the Command as fulfilling and praised the resilience of officers amid security challenges in the state.

Comptroller Musa also reaffirmed that the Command would intensify efforts to combat smuggling and other cross-border crimes while calling for stronger coordination with security agencies and border communities to enhance operational efficiency.
