Zone A Customs Honors Outstanding Officers, Reinforces Call for Professionalism

The Zone A Public Relations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reiterated the need for professionalism in service delivery while commending its outstanding outgoing officers for their dedication and contributions.
The unit hosted a special event at Wealth Chinese Restaurant, Ikeja, to celebrate the officers who have distinguished themselves through exceptional service. The occasion was marked by heartfelt tributes, commendations, and goodwill messages from senior officers and colleagues.
In his remarks, the Zonal Coordinator, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Charles Orbih, commended the outgoing officers for their commitment to duty, urging them to uphold the values of integrity and professionalism in their future assignments.
Similarly, the Commandant of the Customs Training College, Ikeja, Deputy Comptroller Aminu Ahmed, expressed pride in the officers’ accomplishments. Having trained some of them, he highlighted their dedication and consistency, noting that their success serves as a motivation for younger officers.
Assistant Comptroller Abubakar Usman, former Customs Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Apapa Command, advised officers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities and prepare for greater challenges ahead.
Assistant Comptroller Muhammed Yakubu, the outgoing PTML CPRO, stressed on the importance of humility and sacrifice in public service, while Superintendent of Customs Ngozi Okwara, former TCIP CPRO, urged officers to adhere strictly to the chain of command and verify all information before dissemination.
The event included the presentation of awards to the departing officers in recognition of their exemplary service. Expressing their gratitude, the honorees pledged to uphold the standards and values instilled in them during their tenure.
The celebration concluded with a formal dinner, where officers shared memorable moments and extended best wishes to their outgoing colleagues.
