FIFA Invites S.E.S.C Chairman, Okumagba to Qatar 2021 as Number 1 Fan in Nigeria

The supreme body for football worldwide, The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has identified the number one football fan in Nigeria and accordingly extended an invitation to him to join other delegates from around the world in attending the biggest football show in the world post COVID-19, the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.
In a letter sent to Lagos Nigeria all the way from the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, the world football governing body congratulated Prince Vincent Okumagba for his years of dedication to football supportership in Nigeria while confirming his special invitation to witness the 10th edition of the Arab world’s national team football tournament which will be the first edition with the FIFA Arab Cup branding.

“You have been selected from Nigeria for our Fan Leader Visit to Qatar to experience the rich culture of the country and to take in the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 first hand. The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy will take care of your Return Flight ticket, Accomodation, Food and Refreshments, Tickets to the matches, Transportation around the cities and Cultural Tours as well as any Covid-19 Testing required in Qatar”, the letter read.
When contacted, the Super Eagles Supporters Club Chairman, Prince Vincent Okumagba acknowledged receipt of the letter and revealed that this is the birth of a new dawn in football supportership in Nigeria.
“I am dedicating this recognition by FIFA to all members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club. Without the field and the office members, this couldn’t have been possible. I must also commend the Pinnick Amaju led NFF board for creating the enabling environment for football to thrive and develop in our dear country. I want to tell you that we are now re-energized, we are now more committed to supporting football come rain, shine or snow, there is no stopping us”, an obviously elated supporters club boss disclosed to this reporter over the phone.
The FIFA Arab Cup 2021 consisting of 16 teams from 2 Confederations of Africa and Asia is scheduled to take place between 30 November and 18 December 2021 in Qatar, as a prelude to the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will also be held in Qatar.

N.C.F President Mr Uyi Akpata Pays A 1 Day Working Visit to Abuja Office

As the year 2021 gradually comes to an end, the Federation is taking stock of activities conducted and also preparing for the 2022 Cricket calendar.
President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Mr. Uyi Akpata, visited the Nigeria Cricket Federation paid the head office in Abuja on a 1-day working visit to the Secretariat office where he met with staff and also inspected the office environment.
The President made a next stop as he visited to some members of the national team undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Sports (NIS) clinic in Abuja.
Meeting with the President, the players expressed their gratitude for the timely intervention by the Federation intending to their medical needs, citing that treatment was going on according to plans.
The President’s final stop was the Cricket Oval where he conducted routine inspections of the 2 turf pitches under construction and the level of readiness.
After a tour around both facilities and interaction with the ground staff, Mr. Uyi Akpata expressed satisfaction at the job done thus far and the condition of the pitches especially the playing surface and the outfield. “I am very pleased with the conditions of the pitches here in Abuja, a lot of work has gone into this in the last 2 years and some work still needs to be done especially with the sitting areas and pavilion but overall, we are almost ready and plans are in place to make this a complete functional facility ahead of activities in 2022, he said.’’

Ahead of the 2021 African cup of nations, African soccer governing has launched official match ball for the competition.

The ball which was produced by umbro was made with thick white and styled with color green, named toghu.

According to the video made available by the football, body described toghu as traditional, ornate, glory, heritage, and unity.
