Nigerians Show Support for Fela Kuti to Win ‘ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ‘

The late afrobeat legend, Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti popularly known as Fela Anikulapo Kuti has been nominated for the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The late musician was nominated alongside international artistes like JAY-Z, Dionne Warwick, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden and Carole King, and he could be inducted on his first-ever nomination.
The Water No Get Enemy singer will also compete with other veteran singers likes of Mary J. Blige, Tina Turner, LL Cool J and Chaka Khan who made the 16-man list of nominees which was announced on Wednesday.
According to the chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Skyles, “This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates.
Nigerian celebrities including Burna Boy and many others took to their different platforms to campaign for votes to support the Legend.
Fela Kuti is currently leading with 76703 Votes followed by Tina Turner with 57569 votes.

Entertainment Community To Celebrate Efe Omorogbe @ 50

Nigerian Entertainment Today (Netng) and Lagos-based music management company, Now Muzik have announced a music business roundtable in partnership with the Association of Music Artistes Managers of Nigeria (AMAMN) to celebrate legendary talent manager and creative entrepreneur, Efe Omorogbe as he turns 50.
The virtual event is set to hold on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, and will see a team of seasoned speakers drawn from different sectors of the entertainment industry shed light on the topic, “Talent Management: Perception, Reality & Challenges In A Changing World”.

COSON Mourns Late Music Icon, Chris Ajilo

The Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) on Sunday mourned the death of veteran musician, Chris Ajilo, who died at the age of 91.
The chairman of COSON, Tony Okoroji, in a statement while paying tribute to the highlife veteran, said that Nigeria had lost an irreplaceable music icon.
Recall that the legendary highlife singer, Pa Chris Ajilo, has died from malaria at the age of 92.
According to the Singer’s caregiver, David Ekanem, the highlife singer had been battling malaria since last week.
He reportedly died in a hospital at 10:30 am Saturday
