Restructuring: Buhari Will Not Succumb to Threat and Undue Pressure Over Restructuring

President, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday presided over the inauguration of Executive/Legislative/Party Consultative Committee at the State House, Abuja.

At the meeting were Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; APC’s Interim Chairman, Mai Mala Buni and other top government functionaries.

Also at the meeting were Senate and House of Representatives leaders, such as the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan; Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.

Buhari named his deputy, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as the chairman of the NASS forum.

:#EndSARS: Key Things to Note About the YDP

As the #EndSARS Protests continues across Nigeria, Majority of Youths in the country have continued to lend their voices to the Movement with increasing demands on a daily.

In response to the Hashtag #EndSARS movement, Nigerian Youths have started a major political reformation called the YDP which stands for Youth Democratic Party.

The Movement was formed  Tuesday, October 13th 2020.

The Youth Democratic Party (YDP) which has no leader as of now, has been trending on Social media since its conception.

According to the movement, a monthly due of N500 will be collected from its members as funds to be put in place ahead of the 2023 Elections in Nigeria.

It also noted that Citizens older than 50 years will be not be allowed to contest for a government position under the party.

Oyo State Governor Orders Police Operatives to Back Down from Attacking Protesters

Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has ordered police operatives to back down from attacking EndSARS protesters, adding that all protesters must be protected and no further loss of life should be recorded in the state.

Makinde noted that he had deployed members of operation burst to the hot spots, especially Ogbomosho, to ensure that as people protest, they will not be harassed or brutalized

The Governor sympathized with parents and families of those who have died or been hospitalized because of the actions of the Nigeria police force during the EndSARS protests.

He noted that peaceful protests are a legitimate way for citizens to make their grievances known to the government and so was unacceptable for anyone to be hurt during such protests.

We Will Push Until You Win, President Buhari Assures Okonjo-Iweala

President Muhammadu Buhari has assures Nigeria’s Former Minister of Finance and Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, that the country will seek every opportunity and deploy its entire energy to ensure that she becomes the next director-general of the world trade organization (WTO).

President Buhari, who received Okonjo-Iweala at the presidential villa, said she deserved more support to get the top job because of her profile and diligence in serving the country, and the world.

President Buhari assures Okonjo-Iweala that the will make more phone calls and send letters to some world leaders for more support. In her response, Okonjo-Iweala expressed gratitude to the president for his support, adding that she felt very proud of Nigeria.

Okonjo-Iweala is one of two candidates contesting for the top position of the multilateral Institution.
